・同定のポイント 　体長6.5cmまで。被嚢は暗褐色または明褐色。 被嚢から取り出した筋膜体（A:左側面、B:右側面）
・生態 　マリーナや漁港の浮き桟橋やロープに付着する 　国内発見時は Pallusia nigra と報告されたが、最近の分子生物学的研究により、日本を含めたインド・太平洋の多くの記録にある P. nigra は P. philippinensis であることが判明した。（P. nigra は西大西洋が原産）
